Why choose the Online Renewable Energy Certificate program?

Admission Requirements

Admission to the program is open to all students who hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, management or a closely related field. Students not enrolled in a graduate degree program must complete a graduate special application and then apply to the Online Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy program. Students must have a B (3.0) or better average in the program to earn the certificate and all course work must be completed within five years of matriculation. The certificate program may be used to fulfill the renewable energy emphasis area of the University of Nevada, Reno’s on-campus MBA degree program.

Online Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy

Designed for engineers, business staff and managers, government regulators and others impacted by new policies and practices relating to renewable energy, this online certificate allows working professionals to study current issues in this diverse field. Courses are multidisciplinary, offered from several engineering disciplines as well as the Colleges of Science, Business and Liberal Arts at the University. Instructors are experts in their respective fields at Nevada and other research institutions.

Class Format

The 12-credit online certificate program allows students flexibility while providing a breadth of understanding in different aspects of renewable energy. While offered online, courses are completed in a traditional semester-long time frame beginning January 2012. The certificate also includes internship courses offered onsite, providing students hands-on experience and real-world knowledge.
